The Basic Socket in black is an essential starting point for many of our assembled fixtures and will likely be an important purchase for any DIY customers too. This simple socket provides both functionality and a clean look that allows your design to be the star. Made of black plastic, the socket features a smooth surface that also pairs well with our socket covers for a decorative finish.
Please note that while making your parts selections, we offer a variety of cord grips which is an important component to add to your cart should you be making a hanging pendant fixture. Cord grips keep your socket securely attached to the cord but they are sold separately.
With all lighting projects and DIY fixture assembly, we always recommend consulting a licensed electrician.
These sockets are self locking! Do not assemble the sockets with the terminal inside before it is wired. The terminal will lock the socket permanently.

I'm a DIY of all things construction -- floors, concrete counters, specialty wall treatments. I find trying to wire my lights a super PITA. The company was very helpful. They sent me more videos. I easily watched 10 different videos to just try to get the connectors over the cloth cord. Eventually I did it. My electrician will hang them soon. I hope they light. I bought cords for 3 lights and decided for the last one I would buy a prewired light with the super long cord at Lowe's for $22. I saved a lot of time and energy by doing that. I will just put the light covering I made on that. Done. I appreciate that this company is supportive, they have a great website, ship quickly but doubt I would ever pursue this option in the future.
