Vise Swag Hook Overview

The Vise Hook is the newest addition to our swag hook lineup — a sturdier take on our best-selling Pinch Swag Hook. Where the Pinch Hook uses a small set screw, the Vise Hook clamps your cord with a knurled thumb screw you tighten by hand — no tool needed to lock your cord in place. Engineered specifically for our 18g SVT fabric-wrapped cord, it gives you the same clean, modern silhouette as the Pinch Hook with an even firmer grip and a 10 lb weight rating, making it one of the easiest ceiling hooks for pendant lights to install and adjust.

Anchor style and material may vary. Raw metal and brass finishes are untreated and may rust or have imperfections.

Comes with the Vise Hook, backplate, No. 6 wood screw, drywall anchor, and Allen key — everything you need to mount it and lock it in.

Vise Hooks can be mounted directly on wood or ceiling joists. For mounting on drywall, be sure to use the included anchor. If your ceiling is plaster, brick, or concrete, we recommend consulting your local hardware store for assistance.

Use the included Allen key to loosen the hook's set screw before threading it onto the backplate, then tighten to lock it in — same as our other swag hooks. From there, no tools required: thread your pendant light cord through the hook and hand-tighten the knurled screw until snug. Loosen it any time to reposition your cord or adjust your swag length.

Our Raw Metal and Raw Brass finishes are untreated by design, offering a natural, industrial aesthetic. These finishes showcase their authentic character through subtle imperfections and color variations that will develop a unique patina over time, similar to upcycled materials. Because they're left in their raw state, they're also ideal for customization — polish the brass to a brighter shine or sand and paint the metal to achieve the exact look you want.

How do you tighten a Vise Hook?
Thread your cord through the hook opening, then turn the knurled screw by hand until it clamps the cord snugly in place. No Allen key or tools needed for this step — the Allen key is only used to mount the hook onto its backplate.

How is the Vise Hook different from the Pinch Hook?
Both hooks secure your cord with a screw mechanism, but the Pinch Hook uses a small set screw you tighten with an Allen key and is rated up to 5 lbs, while the Vise Hook uses a larger, hand-tightened thumb screw for a firmer grip, no tool required, and a 10 lb weight rating.

What size cord does the Vise Hook work with?
The Vise Hook is designed exclusively for our 18g SVT fabric-wrapped cord (¼" diameter). It is not designed for any smaller or larger cord, including 2-conductor SPT wire.
