Color Cord 3000 Overview

The Color Cord 3000 is a cloth cord wire stripper built to make your DIY lamp-wiring projects faster and a lot less frustrating. One tool handles wire cutting and removes the cloth jacket and covering from round cord and coaxial cable — all with a simple twist. Turn the adjustable knob to set your blade, line up your cord, and turn clockwise to expose the conductor wires underneath.

Heads up: this tool removes the cloth jacket and covering only — it doesn't strip the conductor wire insulation underneath. You'll still need a standard wire stripper for the individual conductor wires once they're exposed.

Use the wire-cutting blade on the back of the tool to trim your cord to length, then switch to the cable stripper to remove the fabric jacket and expose the conductor wires underneath. Line up your cord in the stripper, turn the tool clockwise, and the blade does the rest — no more fighting with a utility knife to get through cloth-covered cord. From there, grab a standard wire stripper to strip the individual conductor wires.

What wire is this compatible with?
Round cloth-covered SVT wire — the kind used in our power cord whips and DIY wire lines.

Can I use this on flat SPT wire?
No — this tool is built for round cord only and isn't compatible with flat SPT or single-strand conductor wire.

Does it cut wire, or just strip it?
Both, in a sense — it has a wire-cutting blade on the back for trimming to length, plus a stripper for removing the cloth jacket from round cord and coaxial cable. It doesn't strip the conductor wire insulation itself; you'll want a standard wire stripper for that step.
