Metallic Keyed Socket Overview
This keyed, 2-conductor light socket brings a vintage turn-key switch to your fixture — a great match for an exposed Edison bulb and an early-1900s feel. It's a modern twist on an early lighting style that dresses up any DIY build.
Solid Raw Brass and Antique Brass finishes are left with a natural, untreated look — expect them to oxidize and tarnish over time.
Can I use a 3-wire cord with this socket?
Yes — this is a 2-conductor socket. If your cord color only comes with 3 wires, simply clip the green ground wire and leave it unused during assembly.
What cord grip do I need?
A plastic cord grip/strain relief — this socket isn't compatible with metal cord grips or tubing.
Pick up cloth-covered wire by the foot, a plastic cord grip to keep it securely attached, and an Edison bulb to complete the vintage look. As with any lighting project, we recommend consulting a licensed electrician if you have questions about your specific setup.

The copper fitting looks great! It was easy to wire and makes for very attractive pendant lights. You can't really go wrong with it. Although it has a screw to secure the cord, I'd recommend one of there matching cord grips.
