Extra Shade Ready Socket Ring Overview
Pick up an extra ivory ring for your Shade Ready Socket — standard or extended threads, either works. Adding a second ring lets you "sandwich" your shade or light fitting into place for a more secure hold.

It's the industry term for the 1⅝" shade opening used on our Shade Ready Sockets — this ring is part of that same system.

A Hollywood mirror was created using Shade ready sockets with two shade rings. One as a backer behind the mirror frame and one on the front of the mirror frame to retain the socket. Lamp wire, purchased in bulk from a home center, was used to daisy chain the sockets together. A second lamp wire with plug attached was used to terminate the circuit and plug into the wall or use a power strip with an on/ off switch. Alternately, a credenza dimmer can be used to plug into. The wire ends were tinned prior to pushing into the sockets.

I'm so glad I found this site. They had exactly what I needed to turn a basket into a lampshade. It was super easy as they have videos on the website. I do wish that they had prompted me to order the other things I needed like the cord grip but I'll order separately.
