Our Twist Socket in black is made from hard plastic and pairs easily with our cloth-covered wire. It's a 2-conductor socket that also works with 3-conductor cord — just clip the green ground wire and leave it unused. Add one of our metal socket covers for a decorative finish.

Can I use a 3-wire cord with this socket?
Yes — this is a 2-conductor socket. If your cord only comes with 3 wires, simply clip the green ground wire and leave it unused during assembly.

Can I add a shade to this socket?
Not directly — this version is designed for exposed bulbs, paired with one of our metal socket covers. If you want to hang a shade, check out our Twist Socket with Ring instead.

Add a metal socket cover for a decorative finish, then pick up cloth-covered wire by the foot and a cord grip to keep it securely attached to your cord — sold separately. As with any lighting project, we recommend consulting a licensed electrician if you have questions about your specific setup.
