Twist Socket - Frost White
Twist Socket - Frost White
SKU: PSK-005-100
Our Twist Socket in Frost White is made out of hard white plastic and is compatible with our cloth covered wire. This simple socket features a 2 conductor terminal and is compatible with our metal socket covers. This socket is compatible with our 3-conductor wire, if the green ground wire is clipped and left unused. Note that this white plastic color is tonal match with our white cord fabric wire and is not a perfect match. If you plan using this socket with our DIY light cord, we recommend using a cord grip / strain relief for a secure attachment, sold separately.
These sockets are self-locking! Do not assemble the sockets with the terminal inside before it is wired. The terminal will lock the socket permanently.
Please do not exceed more than a 5 lb pull weight on this socket. If you would like to assemble a socket and cord for a lighting application, please consult a licensed electrician.

What I was sent does not match the photos or description exactly. My socket is not self-locking. Also, some sort of instructional sheet or video would be extremely useful since it doesn’t match the other sockets available here for which there are instructions. Beware using the metal socket covers that state they are compatible. They work if you’re not attaching a lampshade, but they are taller than the socket and so if you have a lampshade that attaches around the base of the bulb, the metal cover prevents the bulb from being able to reach the socket. All that being said, a couple hours of frustration later, I do have a working lamp.

If you ever have any questions about our products, feel free to reach out to us at info@colorcord.com and we are happy to help. The twist socket is used less frequently in our assemblies so there are fewer resources online for this product. We usually recommend our basic socket as it is grounded and will work with the covers, but there are some assemblies that require this socket which can be more unique than our online options. I am glad that the results were successful though!
