E12 Shade Ready Socket Extended Threads Overview

Our ivory E12 Shade Ready Socket with Extended Threads gives you more threading area than the standard version, with no flange on the socket — the perfect choice when your candelabra shade is thicker than average. It ships with one shade ring included; a second ring is available separately to sandwich thicker shades in place.

What's the difference between E12 and E26?
E12 is the smaller "candelabra" base, typically used for chandeliers and decorative fixtures. E26 is the standard medium base used in most lamps and pendants. The two aren't interchangeable.

Do I need a second ring?
Only if your shade is thicker than average — this socket has no flange, so an extra ring lets you sandwich it securely in place. It's sold separately since not every project needs it.

What do I use to cover the socket if there's no flange?
We don't currently offer a half-cap style cover sized for this E12 socket — if you need finish recommendations for your build, reach out to us.
