12 Projects of Christmas - Project #6 Shim Shade

We painted wood shims with a stylish gradient and applied them to our Petite Fabric Shade!

Step 1: Taping and Sanding Wood Shims

We taped together the wooden shims so they could be easily sanded down and evenly painted.

Step 2: Painting the Gray Gradient

We decided to go with a Gray Gradient that goes from a charcoal look to a light silver!  When we applied the outer layer of shims facing the opposite direction it produced a textural look!

Step 3: Gluing Shims and Securing Standard Plug In Pendant Cord Set

After gluing down the two layers of wood shims to our Petite Fabric Shade, all that's left is to secure the Standard Plug In Pendant Cord Set to the shade with the shade ring!  We were pretty happy with how this turned out, but we wish could utilize it on a beach front property!  Send us photos your DIY Holiday projects!
