Overview
Our DIY Twisted Pair Wire by the Foot in black is a specialty wire used primarily in restoration applications. It is especially suitable for restoring vintage-style fixtures with modern components or creating pendants with antique charm. Please note this wire is not UL Listed. All cord is sold by the foot so you can order exactly what you need.
Construction & Specifications
- Two parallel conductors surrounded by a jacket and insulated cover, finished with colored rayon cloth and twisted
- Rated voltage: 600V
- Max weight rating dependent on final application and assembly
- Not UL Listed — confirm suitability for your application before ordering
We recommend ordering 1–2 feet more than needed to account for length cuts and wire stripping. Note that tightness of twist may vary slightly due to natural variances in wire fabrication.

I have been looking for a cord to use to hang picture from a picture rail. Most chains were too expensive and shiny and cord without wire was too stretchy. This serves its purpose beautifully. It is an antique gold color. Not too shiny but very chic looking and matches antique gold leaf picture frames perfectly.
