We are pleased to introduce the Smoothie Bend Solo Plug-In Sconce, a stunning blend of technology and artistry designed in collaboration with California-based Modern Science Project. Inspired by the sculptural housewares of potter and artist Amanda Woodcock, this exclusive Color Cord lighting collaboration will bring bold shapes and iridescent magic into your home.

At the heart of this fixture are the handcrafted ceramic shades, each featuring a fluted texture and vibrant dreamy colors that shift and shimmer as the light changes—creating an almost glowing, iridescent rainbow effect. The small shaped (approximately 4.75 inches tall and 3.86 inches wide) ceramic shade is meticulously handcrafted, ensuring a one-of-a-kind piece that reflects the artisanal care behind its creation. Every shade is slip-cast, hand-finished and meticulously glazed to achieve its captivating appearance.

Designed as a plug-in sconce, the Smoothie Bend Solo is perfect for renters or anyone seeking a flexible and versatile lighting option without a hardwired installation and tailored to perfectly suit your space. Choose from our range of vibrant color cords, adjust the cord length, switch location and other details using our Customizer Tool, and create a lighting piece that is uniquely yours.

Each piece is one of a kind and handcrafted by the artist, making it truly unique. Woodcock is the founder of Modern Science Project, where she blends her expertise as a potter, glass artist, product designer, and mechanical engineer to create funky yet functional iridescent pottery and glassware. Using computer-aided design (not AI!) and 3D printing, she meticulously crafts the forms that shape the molds for each piece. From there, every item is hand-cast, sponged, seamed, glazed, and fired twice, ensuring a truly one-of-a-kind creation. With a passion for innovation and artistry, Amanda’s work brings a playful yet refined touch to everyday objects.

Bright, Colorful Wall Sconces & More

Color Cord Company is your one-stop lighting design shop, whether you’re a professional designer, interior decorator, architect, contractor, or a creative DIYer designing lighting at home. From lamp parts and light fixtures to the widest selection of color cords out there, we have everything you need.

If you have any questions, please contact us online or call 1.800.409.1070.
